Santa!

Emily met Santa today! We had to wait almost an hour and a half and she did a great job. I was really worried we were going to be starving by the time we met Santa, but we met him just in time. She wasn't very excited, but I'm sure the excitement will increase as the years go on!

San Antonio

Last weekend we were lucky enough to visit San Antonio. Adam had to go for work so Emily and I tagged along for the weekend. Emily was able to meet Uncle Ben and see the rest of the Burnett's. We had a lot of fun and Emily showed off what a great baby she is! She melts hearts everywhere she goes.

When we came home Mosby showed us how much she missed all of us, especially Emily. She now loves to lay by her and was showing her the love. Mosby just came and laid down next to Emily. Then we started to pose the two together. We are so lucky that Mosby is such a good dog and goes along with almost anything.

Riding the dog like a horse is frowned upon in this establishment.

Hi!

Emily wanted to say hi to everyone! She has been a very chatty lady. It sounds like she is working on her first word, Hi! (or maybe not yet) It is really cute when she concentrates on making sounds. We thought we would share her greetings with everyone.

12 1/2 Weeks

Napping on the couch

Emily is becoming such a big girl lately. She is exploring more and is more interested in what is going on around her. Of course as you have seen she has found her right hand, she still isn't very interested in her left hand. She learned that she can hold one of her rattles (if I put it in her hand) and she likes to put it in her mouth. She continues to like to smile, especially at Adam. She is starting to look at the pictures when I read books to her. I think that is about all that is new lately.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yesterday was Emily's first Thanksgiving.  She celebrated in the usual fashion by assisting with the cooking, watching football, drinking copious amounts of milk and multiple naps.  When asked if it gets any better than this, she replied, "I could have used some of the pumpkin pie that Mosby ate."

We hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!  We love and miss you all.

Happy Fall Day!

In preparation for the long winter ahead, Adam raked leaves to prepare the yard for the rigors of the cold.  Emily decided to help!  As you can see, her newest skill set is leaf pile management.  She has also become one with nature.

10 Weeks (Tomorrow)

Emily's Baby Shower

Aunt Jill and Aunt Susan

Emily and Josie (April's daughter)

Cousins!
Emily went on her first trip to Minnesota! We had a busy week of visiting with everyone. She did great on both flights and slept the whole way. The Hargreaves had a baby shower for Emily and everyone loved meeting her. She had a very full suitcase full of beautiful clothes on the way home, everyone was so generous! Our flight home was canceled so we didn't leave until Sunday. This worked out great because we were able to go to Ethan's first birthday party.

Two month check-up:
When we got back to Denver, Emily had her two month check-up. Of course the doctor said she was perfect! She weighs 11 pounds 1 oz (48th percentile) and is 23 inches (48th percentile). She is looking great and is right on track. She had to get three shots and it was sad to hear her cry. Luckily she seemed to be feeling ok the rest of the day.

8 Weeks (A little late)

Four generations of Burnetts

Proud Grandparents
This is a little late, but Emily had a great week. Grand-dude visited for the weekend and Emily was happy to meet her Grand-dude. Grandma Vicki was in town for the weekend and was able to stay for the week to help me out while Adam traveled for work. It was great to have her around! Emily loved being rocked all the time and Mosby loved all of the long walks.
Emily celebrated her first Halloween. No trick-or-treating this year, but she did dress up. She was the football and Adam and I are football players. She is such a mellow baby, she put up with all of Adam's playing. Luckily she wasn't fumbled.

Now I'm ready for football!

Touchdown!! Now I'm ready to cheer!

7 Weeks

Aunt Jill came to visit this weekend. Emily had fun at the Cherry Creek Farmer's Market, picking out a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, and really enjoying shopping. She also got to spend lots of time being held by Aunt Jill.

6 Weeks

Here are the pictures from part 2 of the photo shoot. She is so cute when she sleeps so we wanted to capture that as well. What a cutie!
This week we visited the zoo with Allison and Paige Cartwright. Paige is about 6 weeks older than Emily and I'm sure they will have lots of upcoming play dates when they are actually big enough to play together.
Emily is starting to smile a lot more and gets excited to see people. She continues to sleep great. She has been sleeping for at least one four hour stretch during the night and even did a five hour stretch last night. She is good at falling back asleep after she wakes up to eat so that is great. She also continues to sleep a lot during the day, but always likes to be held during the day. Another first this week, I got pooped on for the first time. She was sitting on my lap and had an accident. Lucky me!
PS: Sorry I can't flip the pictures the right way! :)

Emily plays model, dad plays photographer

This morning, after breakfast, Adam decided to hone his photography skills.  His victim model was Emily.  We attempted more belly shots but mother nature intervened.  We will continue the photo shoot later this weekend.  Happy Saturday!
