Visit to Santa!
Today we visited Santa at the local Bass Pro Shop! As you can see in the video, Emily wasn't quite sure what to think about all of this. We are confident she will learn to love Santa as she grows wiser with age.

Playground
We had photo shoot and some fun at the playground. We are all dressed up following Trey's Blue Party. She looks so grown up in her sweater dress and trench coat. Plus, she of course had lots of fun on the slides. On Thanksgiving she had a friend teach her how to throw the leaves in the air, she has loved to try out her new trick.

An Afternoon at the Playground
We took Emily and Mosby to the local playground for some quality play time this afternoon. It was a nice day and likely one of the last great weekend days before the cold comes.
While there are many things to do at the playground, the slides are Emily's favorite! Whether it's riding on mommy or daddy's lap or (as we discovered today) going down all by her big-girl-self, Emily just can't get enough!

Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween! Emily had a nasty cold this weekend so instead of going to Boo at the Zoo we went to Bass Pro Shop. It is in the neighborhood and they always do holiday festivities, so it is a fun place to visit. Plus, we get to look at the neat fish tank and all of the stuffed animals. Emily got her picture taken with the Charlie Brown characters and then posed by their fish pond. We then went to the pumpkin patch at our church to pick out pumpkins. Emily had a fun afternoon and loved the costume. She didn't even try to take of the feet or the hat!

Pumpkin Patch
We visited a pumpkin patch last weekend with Ryan, Jenni, Kellan, and Keira Tobin. Emily was ready to go in her overalls. However, she wasn't very interested in pumpkins or any of the activities. She had a great time playing in the dirt and picking up rocks. Her buddy Kellan was trying to teach her to put them in her pockets, but luckily she hasn't figured that out. We are lucky if she keeps them out of her mouth most of the time.

Busy September
Emily has been a very busy girl this September. She celebrated her birthday with three parties; one in Minnesota, one in Texas, and one in Denver! We went to Minnesota to visit over Labor Day weekend. We had fun with the cousins and even got to swim in the pool. The next weekend we went to South Padre Island for a Burnett vacation. Emily loved the ocean and playing in the sand. The following weekend we had her birthday party in Denver. We celebrated with a red party with red food, decorations, and clothing. It was great to be able to celebrate with all of our family and friends. It has been a great first year!!
We ended the month with a visit from Aunt Susan, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Jill, Uncle Shaun, and cousin Evelyn! We visited the art museum, zoo, and even had a BBQ.
Enjoy all of the pictures!

Look who's walking now (kind of)
Today, Miss Christina and Miss Sylvia told Beth that Emily looked like she was going to be walking "very soon." Little did Beth know they actually meant, "when you get home."
While the video below was taken for your viewing pleasure, Emily and I will be reviewing her form on my video software to ensure maximum performance and maximum velocity.
Also, if anyone happens to have an extra, toddler sized facemask laying around the house, we would love to borrow it. I predict the face plants to be frequent over the next few weeks.

One Year Stats
Emily had her one year check up with Dr.Mary. She is doing great and is right on track with all of her developmental milestones. She was showing off and being very cute for the doctor. Of course when the nurse came in to do the shots, she didn't think it was as much fun.

Peekaboo!
Emily is working on her mastery of peekaboo. We especially like it when she tries to cover her eyes with her hands and doesn't quite get them placed right.
