Christmas Cookies!

We decided to get into the spirit and give Christmas cookies a go this afternoon;  Emily was quite the helper!  Her assignments were mixing the dough and cutting the cookies. She was also appointed Chief Decorating Officer (CDO)!  As CDO, she found that she liked the idea of frosting but sprinkles were easier to execute.  She did, however, keep a 50/50 mix of sprinkle cookies and frosted cookies.

The girls received matching shirts from Adam's boss (and friend) Kim to mark the event of Kate's birth.    The girls looked like they were going to cooperate so a photo shoot was attempted.

Miss Kate is becoming quite the smiler and chatterbox.  We thought we'd share some of her latest work.

Thanksgiving

 

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner with friends and family at the Jacobs. Adam smoked a turkey and Emily and Adam made pecan pie. Since then Emily keeps talking about eating pie. Although, she didn't eat any because she doesn't like sweets very often. However I think she ate two giant rolls for dinner. Emily watched a little bit of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, but it didn't move fast enough to keep her interest.

Kate was two months old on Friday. We went to the doctor today and of course she is doing great!

Weight: 11 lbs, 6 oz; 45th percentile

Height: 22.75", 54th percentile

Head circumference, 56th percentile

She is a very smiley girl and loves to smile at you and stick out her tongue  She is very alert when she is awake and likes to be engaged. Her neck is already getting strong and she is mostly able to hold it up. She continues to sleep well and usually goes four hours at night. (a couple of times she has gone 5 hours). She is obviously eating well as she is gaining a lot of weight already.

Happy Belated Halloween! We had a fun Halloween weekend. We went to Boo at the Zoo with friends. Emily wasn't too sure about it and not that interested in collecting candy. However, had fun riding in the wagon with her friend and eating snacks. Kate slept through her visit to the zoo, but she looked cute in her bear outfit.
On Halloween night we went trick or treating to a few houses, mostly Adam's family and people we know. Emily started to get the hang of it and was enjoying getting the treats.
